Publisher and developer 22cans has unveiled an extended gameplay trailer for its upcoming god game Masters of Albion, giving us a proper look at the varied range of powers available to the big godly hand which acts as our avatar.
The trailer starts off by showing how we can construct “a mine that doubles as a house” by placing individual blocks in the right position. Soon after, a follower asks for a sword to delve into a nearby dungeon and face the dangers lurking therein.
Masters of Albion Extended Gameplay Trailer Shows Off Godly Powers
Similarly to how we can place building blocks to create structures, we can also design equipment using individual pieces, gaining more control over the cost and time required to produce it.
Masters of Albion also allows to drag followers around, assigning them to specific tasks and, seemingly, boosting the production speed of certain buildings by vigorously wiggling our big godly hand while in close proximity to them.
Furthermore, we can also use heroes as meat puppets and directly get involved in third-person combat, ideally after equipping them with proper weapons and armor.
Masters of Albion’s extended gameplay trailer also showcases how dangerous nighttime can get, once malevolent creatures start roaming the land.
We can take on challenges, like the one showcased involving escorting some worshippers before setting up defenses. The footage shows that we can place standalone defensive towers but also rip off the roofs of houses to plop ballistae on top.
Aside from picking up heroes and moving them around to help protect the worshippers or taking control of said heroes ourselves, we can also use our godly powers to rain down fire upon assailants or throw heavy objects at them.
Judging by what was shown so far, Masters of Albion’s systems seem to be built with flexibility in mind. Whether or not interacting with them makes for a compelling gameplay formula is something we’ll get to see for ourselves when the god game enters Steam Early Access on April 22, 2026.
