Tektonic Interactive has unveiled its co-op survival horror game Inferno Protocol for PC, and it’s got a bit of a Maze Runner flavour.
The game sees up to 6 players navigate a vast, illogical labyrinth while gathering resources, crafting equipment, and encountering hostile creatures along the way.
The labyrinth is constantly changing and features various biomes, keeping players on their toes. On top of that, there are no maps, and no hope of a true escape, just the respite of an exit to relative safety. Not the ideal vacation.
But there’s a history to this labyrinth that might help you out. People have been trying to survive in here for some time, and they’ve left various clues as to the labyrinth’s mysterious ruleset. Some are still alive and can be traded with for valuable items and information.
Inferno Protocol Looks to A-Maze
Another hook to the survival aspect of Inferno Protocol is syringes. These risky injections will mutate you in some way, and while some are beneficial, others might turn you into the wrong kind of genetic freak.
The joy of co-op shenanigans is going to be important to Inferno Protocol’s chances of success, and it’s promising to offer up that streaming gold with survival moments driven by player interaction, a level of flexibility in how you survive, and proximity chat that can be heard by anything in the vicinity.
Inferno Protocol currently has no release date, but is marked as ‘Coming Soon’ on its Steam page, and the developer has the Q1 2026 window pencilled in.
