Overwatch is now entering the third year of its existence, and with that, it's only to be expected that players by now have a pretty good sense of how Blizzard run things on a yearly basis.
2019 is not likely to be majorly different from 2018 in regard to Overwatch events and tournaments, aside from the logistics of it all, and we're going to have a bit of an up-to-date overview ready for your consideration right here at Game Watcher. Overwatch 2019 Event Guide is just down below.
Overwatch Seasonal Events 2019
These are the major Blizzard events featuring new content, updates, seasonal lootboxes, and such - they're essentially a mainstay at this point, and the game would be a tad barren if Blizzard were to skimp out in 2019. The dates here are mostly held over from 2018 until more information is available.
Winter Wonderland: Dec 11th - Jan 2nd
Halloween Terror: Oct 9th - Oct 31st
Summer Games: Aug 9th - Aug 30th
3rd Overwatch Anniversary: May 22nd - Jun 11th
Overwatch Archives: Apr 10th - Apr 30th
Lunar New Year: Jan 24th - Feb 18th
Overwatch Tournaments 2019
These are the specific competitive tournaments held on a schedule that's not all that reliant on the many seasonal events spearheaded by Overwatch. Keep an eye on this list as we'll keep it updated as we go along.
Contender Trials: Feb 12th - March 4th
Overwatch League Season 2: Feb 14th - Aug 25th
In the meantime, while we're waiting for further tournament and event announcements, might as well take a look-see at last year's World Cup tournament, which was quite a boon indeed.
