Total War Rome 2 is a pretty damn good game, but Wars of the Gods scales it up to unprecedented levels in regard to content, with so many units that even we were surprised to see just how much stuff Ancient Wars adds.
Wars of the Gods' main draw will undoubtedly be its roster of new units, which boasts a staggering 1500 newcomers across a wide variety of historical factions and clans they've been sourced from. That's not all, of course, but it is impressive.
Ancient Wars also unlocks Factions for the Grand Campaign, Imperial Augustus, Wrath of Sparta, Ceasar in Gaul, Hannibal at the Gates, and Rise of the Republic, adding lots of replay value to that content across the board. There's the downright ridiculous addition of 1500 new units to the game, too, with the majority of them having a unique Area of Recruitment, too. Charm comes from the little things, after all.
Expect a major overhaul for a variety of core gameplay features of Rome 2 as well, with new UI, loading screens, unit cards, and other such thingies being just the tip of the iceberg for this behemoth of a mod.
