2K Games president Christoph Hartmann is inspired by the early days of Miramax, saying they want to balance innovation and creativity with profitability. He notes "so many franchises die" due to "poor quality or creativity running out." Some things weren't meant to "go on forever." Won't jump the bandwagons.
Publisher Take-Two is a "very attractive investment for anybody," thanks to their stellar line-up of owned intellectual properties, boasts COO Karl Slatoff. They're "continuing to invest" in the "best IP out there" like GTA and BioShock. Take-Two is "fantastic" on its own, and great for "any kind of investor".

Irrational Games' Ken Levine declares BioShock Infinite "my game," but he doesn't like being labelled its grand auteur, he believes "more in editorship." The studio boss loves getting to sit down with his staff to "chat with each other," but in the end it's "gotta be my decision." Levine wants film 'true to BioShock'.
Irrational Games latest developer diary for BioShock Infinite looks at protagonist Booker and his female 'sidekick' Elizabeth, and offers a look at the voice actors behind them. Actor Troy Baker voices Booker Dewitt and Courtnee Draper is Elizabeth. They and Ken Levine discuss a little about the roles and what makes these characters tick.
An article about upcoming PlayStation Move games at PlayStation.com has revealed that a special Move controller would be produced for Irrational's upcoming BioShock Infinite. UPDATE: 2K Games confirm there is no special PlayStation Move hardware for BioShock: Infinite.
Publisher 2K Games has stated there is no specially designed BioShock: Infinite peripheral for PlayStation Move coming out, although it will support Sony's motion controller on PS3. The official PlayStation UK website ran a report that Irrational and 2K were creating a special add-on for Move with Sony, but it's since been pulled. No hardware gimmicks.
BioShock creator Ken Levine of Irrational Games feels "almost everything" he's worked on is a "descendent of that feeling" he had playing Ultima Underworld where it felt "like a real place." His games are "really struggling to create a sense of place" for us to get connected with, he says. Levine has "no patience" with game designers who lecture others how they should make worlds.
Ken Levine stated in an interview last week that he has had enough with developers who lecture other developers on how to make a game. In a new interview with Digital Spy, Levine has also had it with games whose stories are overwrought and overdone and include "too much information."
2K Australia, which is based in Canberra, is helping a developer with a BioShock title again. 2K Australia had assisted 2K Marin with BioShock 2, and are now helping Ken Levine's Irrational Games (formerly 2K Boston) with BioShock Infinite.
Those who've watched the E3 2011 gameplay video for Irrational Games' BioShock Infinite will remember the horrifying robot thing called the Songbird, which has an abusive passive-aggressive relationship with the psychic Elizabeth. According to series creator Ken Levine, the Songbird was a product of him going back to the drawing board to creating a new monster that had a distinctly different feel than the original BioShock's Big Daddies.

2K Games has announced a new gameplay mode for BioShock Infinite that will force players to make critical roleplaying decisions called the 1999 Mode. Ken Levine is keeping the narrative to BioShock Infinite under tight control in order to observe his team as they come across its twists and turns - a reaction you can't get "a second time." He admits there's a "frustration on the team" because he hasn't documented the story for them to digest in one go, but he won't do it because it's "not the way we present stuff to the gamer."
2K Games announces BioShock Infinite's release date. We can finally plot when our heads get to be among the clouds. It's a simultaneous release so fear not PC gamers. Ken Levine says Infinite is a follow-up that "dwarfed the original in scope and ambition." We play former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, the franchise's first voiced player character.
Sony announced the release date for BioShock Infinite on the PlayStation US Blog, which isn't news unto itself, since the release date had been widely announced already by Irrational Games. However, Sony did reveal an interesting tidbit in their own announcement, which is that the US version of BioShock Infinite on the PlayStation 3 will include the original BioShock on the Blu-Ray disc.
The reason behind Irrational Games not blabbing about PlayStation Move support with BioShock Infinite is because it's "hard to do," says Ken Levine. It has to be shown to be 'got'. The studio has to "put the thing in somebody's hand" and ask how it feels, which they'll do "at some point." The BioShock creator concludes the "proof's going to be in the pudding."
