"I think the designers on True Crime - just like ModNation Racers - have benefited from a clean sheet. They were able to build a team with the right talent, they were able to build a game engine with all of the right tools... there's no legacy on our games and that's been kind of a luxury," United Front Games director William Ho told CVG.
United Front also developed ModNation Racers which releases for PlayStation 3 exclusively May 21st, and features awesome degrees of customisation - like LittleBigPlanet.
"I think you're going to see a pretty fresh and original take on the open-world action game. It's not going to be confused for any other game," he continued. That means no 'GTA-clone' feeling hopefully, although some have enjoyed that sentiment.
This new True Crime may revive the series which has been plagued with so-so impressions, as United Front Games takes over from former developer Luxoflux. True Crime releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC later this year.
