Lead writer Anthony Burch of Gearbox Software’s Borderlands franchise has revealed the studio has already begun spitballing ideas for a third full instalment to the highly acclaimed IP.
Nothing else was revealed by Burch during an episode of ‘The Totally Rad Show’. Already on the books are four major DLC releases for Borderlands 2, as well as smaller treats.
By June next year we’re supposed to be drowning in new game content for the freshly released Borderlands sequel. Each major DLCs are meant to be roughly the size of General Knoxx’s Secret Armory.
It will come as no surprise that Gearbox wants to continue developing the Borderlands universe given the phenomenal reception the first-person RPG loot-athon has received. Critics have lauded Borderlands 2 as being a great evolution of the franchise’s formula with bigger and better everything.
