The International DOTA 2 Championships 2012 will be held in Seattle, Washington during PAX Prime as Valve move the venue from the Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany.
16 teams are pitted against each other in the tournament, made up of global teams, as they compete for the grand prize of $1 million. Valve will broadcast the proceedings live via the web.
The live streams will be available in a variety of languages and entirely free to view. The Ukraine’s Na’Vi team are the defending champions and are invited to run this year, as are China’s DK.
PAX Prime runs from August 31st to September 2nd. Valve will be announcing information on how to secure tickets to the event ”in the coming weeks”. Last year at Gamescom was an inaugural event for DOTA 2. Check out the Na’Vi team in action during the championship last year against Ehome, fighting for the $1 million pot of gold.
