Halo 4 Limited Edition unveiled, contents revealed

While a Limited Edition of Halo 4 was a foregone conclusion, Microsoft has revealed what the $100 premium edition of the game would look like and include. Among the bonuses are nine maps, early access to six specializations, and a feature length film.

The War Games map pack will include the nine maps, which will be spread across three multiplayer DLC that would be released after the game's release. As for the specializations, they unlock customization options. This makes the Limited Edition effectively a Season Pass, since the DLC and specializations will be available for purchase through Xbox Live Marketplace.

The additional content will include a UNSC Infinity Briefing Packet, which includes an armor customization diagram, a blueprint of the Infinity ship, and additional "insight" into what it means to be a SPARTAN-IV soldier. The Limited Edition will also include a 90 minute live action film called Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.

Finally, the Limited Edition will include bonus digital content such as a unique in-game SPARTAN-IV armor skin, unique in-game weapon skin for the Assault Rifle, an exclusive in-game emblem, Xbox Live Avatar prop, and Xbox Live Avatar Spartan IV armor set.
