Ubisoft has revealed the changelog for Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s Patch 5, which is due out on PC today. They’ve decided to wave the white flag and decouple all loot chests in the game from the lacklustre Companion App.
Their Initiates system, which is supposed to track all your accomplishments across the franchise, is also being told to butt out of Unity, meaning content will become available without meeting criteria.
At the launch of Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s the Initiates and Companion App systems weren’t working properly, meaning content and collectibles in the game were locked out. Of course most were distracted by the horrific performance issues with the wider game itself at the time.
”…we will be unlocking all content exclusive to Initiates and the Companion App, including both blue and gold chests. Players can still progress on the Companion App, they just will no longer be required to complete content to unlock in-game chests,” they blogged.
Whether this latest patch for PC will fix the serious texture glitching with SLI and Crossfire GPU configurations is unknown, as the problem was reintroduced with the last patch.
