When news broke earlier this week of a certain Tracer being aligned a certain way, we commented on how maybe the next Overwatch holiday event would share a little more about her, and her other Overwatch cast colleagues', love lives. Explicitly expecting Valentine's Day, we're now being told to manage our expectations.
Through a video issued to the official Overwatch YouTube channel, we're given the opportunity to take a look back at the game's first year. It likely out-performed Blizzard's expectations when it released in May earlier this year, so of course they'd love to share their thoughts on one of their strongest years to date.
Handled by Jeff Kaplan, director of Overwatch, we're given a few sneak-peeks of what to expect in the new year. Valentine's Day and Easter are, specifically, not one of those expectations any longer. Still focusing on more maps and character - with one character being pushed through the initial art process now - we can be sure there's still lots of free content coming to the Blizzard's debut shooter for quite some time.
Still haven't read this week's Overwatch 'Tracer Reflections' comic? It's totally worth the time of any Overwatch fan.
We just hope you didn't put too many eggs in one basket when it came to the thought of a Valentine's Day event showing a little more sauce. Or does that analogy work better for Easter? Either way, we're getting neither. They'd never get any real work done if they covered every major event, would they?
