The latest proper expansion pack DLC for Cities: Skylines has been announced by Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive, titled Green Cities. This expansion aims to make cities more eco-friendly and sustainable, adding 350 assets to the core game all based around a green theme. There's a fun new trailer (embedded below) and the release date is later this year, making this one of the few Gamescom announcements actually coming out in 2017.
New Cities: Skylines DLC lets you put on a concert with real-life musicians
Everything we have on Cities: Skylines!
Green Cities will add a massive list of visual options, including over 200 new eco-friendly buildings, electric vehicles, and organic stores such as the cutely named 'Healthy Weeds', which we can just imagine Otto from The Simpsons standing outside of shouting "that is flagrant false advertising!". Ahem.
Players can either build more diversified cities or go entirely green, which could be a neat challenge. There will also be new services to tackle noise and environmental pollution and new specialized options, including the ability to level-up specializations for the first time in Cities: Skylines. Also expect 3 new scenarios, 4 new policy options, and a new Monument. Oh, and a new flower hat for Chirper.
You can find more on Cities Skylines - Green Cities on the game's website. It will be the fifth proper expansion for the game, although only seemingly at the level of Mass Transit or Snowfall rather than an After Dark or Natural Disasters. The Concerts DLC is available today.
Cities Skylines - Green Cities will be available later this year for $12.99/£9.99.
