Reaffirming the One Year support Ubisoft seem to give to their big AAA releases these days, </b>The Division</b> received its last major update this morning.
With the servers currently down for routine maintenance, you can likely fire up your platform of choice and be prompted to download and install both Patch 1.6 and, assuming you've bought into content releases, The Last Stand DLC.
As noted on VG247, there's no exclusivity deal going down any longer, meaning those on a platform not paid off by its manufacturer should be seeing the update go live around the same time. Clocking in at around 8.7GB on PC, it comes in around 3GB smaller than the PlayStation 4 version likely due to the latter update adding better scaling support and higher resolutions to the PlayStation 4 Pro console.
The Division's 1.4 Update Sees Players Flock Back To The Troubled Shooter
The update itself is set to bring the titular 'Last Stand' gamemode that has two teams of 8 battling it out within the Dark Zone to amass enough Critical Data before their foes do the same - except computer-controlled enemies still lurk the darkness looking for a quick kill against either side. Updates to older modes will be present with those who just enjoy traversing the Dark Zone likely finding solace in the fact that it'll grow to nearly double its normal size as new zones open up.
Of course, no regular patch would be complete without some balance tweaks. And while Ubisoft Massive claim this leg of DLC to be to last, the team will continue to offer smaller balance patches and tweaks going forward. If you didn't get around to trying The Division during its peak last year, now might be the best time before player numbers start to dwindle once more.
