Phasmophobia has been getting all sorts of juicy updates this year, with more set to come in 2026 as the hit co-op horror game rapidly approaches its 1.0 launch. No one had predicted it hitting Nintendo Switch 2 though.
Though it may be a while before we see that 1.0 launch and the accompanying Nintendo Switch 2 version, that’s what developer Kinetic Games has announced today during the Game Awards. Four-player online co-op is being preserved, of course, and the game will arrive with full parity, including the 14 maps released so far. Watch the announce trailer below:
While the announcement of this specific game coming to Switch 2 is surprising, we’re not shocked by the recent wave of games, big and small, gearing up for an arrival next year on Nintendo’s second hit hybrid console. Dev kits have been going out in recent months to more and more devs, and all signs are pointing to Nintendo Switch 2’s native offerings growing a lot next year.
Here’s what Kinetic Games CEO and Game Director Daniel Knight had to say about the jump to Switch 2:
“We’re over the moon to reveal that Phasmophobia is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. It’s something both our community and all of us at Kinetic Games have wanted for a long time, so we’re really happy this long-kept secret is finally out there… With 1.0 on track for 2026, it’s an exciting time to have new players get to experience the game. We’re so glad that Switch 2 players will be able to join us for everything that’s coming, as well as jump into the wealth of content we’ve added throughout 2025.”
