Diablo 4’s season 11 release date refreshes our daily bouts of daemonic slaughter with a serving of new content, granting us the ability to empower gear through Sanctification and our characters through a new set of Divine Gifts between its start and end dates.
After Season 10 reworked the Infernal Hordes activity, Blizzard is also aiming to make several notable changes to how several of Diablo 4’s core systems work in update 2.5.0, which accompanies the Season of Divine Intervention.
Diablo 4 Season 11 Start and End Dates
Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 4’s Season 11 release date is slated to occur on December 11 at 8:30 PM PST/December 12 at 4:30 AM GMT, after making its way to the PTR in late October. It should then end in March 2026
- Diablo 4 Season 11 start date: December 11/December 12 (depending on timezone)

The original plan for the ARPG involved quarterly seasons, but delays have happened in the past. Unexpected issues could still cause these dates to shift, but we hope that it won’t be the case, especially with the holidays drawing near.
Diablo 4 Season 11 Content - Sanctification, Divine Gifts, and More
Content-wise, Diablo 4 Season 11’s two main features are Sanctification and Divine Powers. The former acts as a powerful final step in terms of item crafting, imbuing gear with angelic power.
Doing so renders the item unmodifiable while having a chance to trigger the following effects:
- Apply a bonus Legendary power
- Improve an Affix into a Greater Affix
- Add a bonus Affix from a pool of special Sanctification affixes
- Replace an existing Affix with a random Sanctification affix
- Make your item indestructible, preventing it from losing durability
Before unlocking Torment difficulties, you get a rare chance to sancify items at the Heavenly Anvil after defeating a lesser evil. In Torment difficulties, Heavenly Sigils can be obtained, transporting you straight to the Heavenly Forge. They are also required to sanctify ancestral quality items.
Divine Gifts enhance our characters’ power, being comprised of three components: a reward, a corrupted gift, and a purified gift. Slotting the Divine Gift into the interior of the panel activates its purified counterpart; alternatively, slotting it into the exterior activates the Corrupted Gift.
Corrupted Gifts make certain activities more difficult while granting the reward bonus of the Divine Gift. Purified Gifts instead remove the negative effect, add a positive one, and double the reward gained.
Diablo 4’s Season 11 also sees Lesser Evils taking over specific activities. Killing them yields corrupted essence that can be turned into Divine Gifts.
Duriel can be found in Helltide zones, Belial sets himself up inside The Pit, while Andariel stalks the Kurast Undercity. Azmodan also returns as a World Boss in multiple locations across Sanctuary.
As far as permanent systems changes go, update 2.5.0 removes the random element of tempering, allowing us to select which affix gets applied. Rather than increasing affix values, masterworking now improves the quality of items, granting bonuses to base damage, armor, and resistances. A final Capstone bonus then upgrades a random affix into a greater affix.
Enemies are also more dangerous, armor and resistances become rating systems, offering diminishing returns at higher values, while Capstone Dungeons make a return.
