Europa Universalis 5’s hotfix 1.0.7 has now been deployed, its patch notes revealing rebalanced levies, as developer Paradox Tinto works to address the negative effects of previously introduced changes how they functioned.
EU5’s hotfix 1.0.7 also further revises pop needs while addressing a few more crashes, as work continues to ensure the grand strategy game plays as smoothly as possible.
Europa Universalis 5 Hotfix 1.0.7 Patch Notes
As explained in a separate forum post by Studio Manager Johan Andersson, “we made [it] so [that] every levy type has a 0.20 multiplier that increases by 0.05 each age, so an Age of Discovery levy will have 0.30, and then that is increased by the Levy Combat Efficiency.”
Some penalties apply as the ages progress but this should, hopefully, translate to a more nuanced system.
EU5’s hotfix 1.0.7 also adds late-game levies to nobles while ensuring navies are much more efficient at dealing with pesky pirates.

Europa Universalis V’s smaller hotfix 1.0.7 will be followed by another update that aims to improve the game’s combat tooltips and UI, which can prove a bit difficult to read, significantly change how the economic base is calculated, while buffing the Decentralization value in order to make it a more attractive choice.
