Fallout 76 players have quite a bit of new content coming their way this year, its 2022 roadmap promising alien encounters, expeditions outside of Appalachia, new seasons, and more.
As was the case in previous years, Fallout 76's 2022 roadmap contains four major updates, each accompanied by a brand new season. Better yet, the first one is scheduled to arrive in early March, so it's not long before things kick off.
The Invaders From Beyond update adds a new map-wide seasonal event that sees aliens invading Appalachia. Players are tasked with defeating them and destroying the Brainwave Siphons they deploy.
Fallout Worlds is also getting changes with this update, including the ability to earn S.C.O.R.E. on daily and weekly challenges, new settings for PvP and C.A.M.P. buildings, as well as the ability to disable VATS.
Summer is when the Test Your Metal update launches and it introduces not one, but three new public events called Test Your Metal, Eviction Notice, and Moonshine Jamboree.
On top of that, Fallout 1st members will see scoreboard improvements like exclusive challenges, increased S.C.O.R.E. earn rate, and exclusive board ranks.
Fallout 76's 2022 roadmap also reveals that Expeditions: The Pitt is set to arrive during Fall, taking players outside of Appalachia for the first time.
The update's main feature can be accessed from a new hub in Whitespring while its repeatable off-site missions feature new rewards alongside NPCs with quests and dialogue trees. It also brings back the Trogs, enemies who should be familiar to anyone who's played Fallout 3's The Pitt DLC.
Lastly, the Nuka-World on Tour update brings the traveling roadshow to the Ash Heap region, giving players new public events, a new region boss public event, lots of loot and more.
Despite its shaky start, Fallout 76 seems to have found its footing. If you regularly spend time in Appalachia, its 2022 roadmap should give you plenty more to do.
