Publisher Paradox Interactive today announced that Hearts of Iron 4 is getting its own expansion subscription service that makes accessing its growing library of post-launch DLC easier.
Hearts of Iron 4’s expansion subscription comes after fellow Paradox grand strategy games Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis 4 received a similar treatment early last year.
With multiple major expansions, country packs, and cosmetic DLCs under its belt, getting into Hearts of Iron IV might prove to be a daunting prospect for new players, which is precisely the problem that its expansion subscription aims to solve.
For the monthly price of $4.99/£3.99/€4.99, players who opt into it can catch up to all the important changes the title has received without having to buy DLC individually. Here’s what subscribing gets you:
- Five expansion packs: Including the naval themed Man the Guns and the recent Eastern Front focused No Step Back
- Two Country Packs: Adding new national focuses for Central European and Eastern Mediterranean nations.
- Sound Packs: Including period music and historical speeches, as well as two song packs from the Swedish metal band, Sabaton.
- Cosmetic Packs: Special cosmetic skins for Allied and Axis Armour, new ship models, and planes of the Eastern Front.
- All upcoming expansions and content
Including future expansions into the subscription definitely helps make it more appealing and it’s great to see that Hearts of Iron IV players have more options in terms of getting new content.
