Publisher 2K and developer Firaxis Games have unveiled the launch trailer for turn-based strategy game Marvel's Midnight Suns, giving us a dose of cinematic action prior to the title's early December release.
Marvel's Midnight Suns' launch trailer may not feature actual gameplay, however, it successfully establishes Lilith as a serious threat, while also including a chunk of exposition and plenty of superhero badassery.
Midnight Suns sees players stepping into the role of The Hunter, a customizable superhero, blending together card-based tactics and gameplay that resembles more traditional RPGs.
During missions, the cards in your hand determine the character abilities or powerful combos that you can use to dispatch opponents.
Outside of missions, you get to spend time in The Abbey, which acts as your main base. There, you can uncover items and secrets that help you fight against Lilith but also interact with the superheroes in your team, discover their personalities, and forge friendships.
The game's character list features several notable supervillains and superheroes, including Lilith herself, Sabretooth, Captain America, Wolverine, Magik, and Hulk.
The latter was unveiled as the 13th and final playable character in the base game in a livestream that featured quite a bit of gameplay from the latter stages of the campaign, also delving into the endgame.
Marvel's Midnight Suns is slated to release on December 2, when it arrives on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
