As Creative Assembly prepares to update Total War: Warhammer 3 with Patch 7.0 and the massive Tides of Torment DLC, Sega and the studio have revealed one extra surprise will be coming on December 4: the huge Immortal Empires campaign will be made available to players who only own the two previous games.
The announcement was shared on November 20, and the full post tried to answer all the hot questions players might have. Considering Immortal Empires was by far the biggest piece of content separating the trilogy capper from the other two games, this is a bold move, one probably planned to entice players who haven’t made the jump yet to finally hop on the threequel as it receives its substantial 7.0 update.
The Total War: Warhammer 3 app will be added to 1 & 2 owners’ libraries on December 4, the day of Total War’s 25th Anniversary Showcase. This won’t give non-3 owners access to all the content and features, but will open the gates of the Immortal Empires campaign plus the Lost God prologue to everyone. If the 1 & 2 owners have DLCs for those games, they’ll be playable in the ultimate Immortal Empires map. To make the jump to the full Warhammer 3 experience, an Upgrade Pack will be made available (a price tag hasn’t been revealed yet).
When it comes to multiplayer, everyone will have access to the co-op Immortal Empires experience, but Warhammer 3’s player-versus-player battles will be locked behind the game’s full version.
