Multiplayer games don't always have to be competitive. Sometimes taking on challenges alongside a friend or more can provide as much, or even more, fun and entertainment as a competitive multiplayer game. While co-op titles rarely match the overall popularity of their competitive counterparts, the category still counts a number of masterpieces in its ranks.

With Europe's biggest games convention, Gamescom, taking place in Cologne, Germany next week, the event organizers have finally let loose the schedule for this year's shenanigans. It's panels galore for the most part, but it seems to confirm one major thing - Blizzard won't be staging a big press conference this year. But there's still a big-name (non-Blizzard) developer hosting a panel

We spent most of 2016 clinging to the hope that one of the year's rumors would turn out to be true - a potential remake of a classic Diablo game. And while it proved to not quite be the case in the end, we were to get something almost as good; an anniversary event that would bring a chunk of Diablo history to Diablo III.
With Blizzard's annual celebration of their history playing out over the weekend at Blizzcon, we finally got some answers to those crazy Diablo related rumors that had been floating around various media outlets for months.
Hearken back to just a few days ago. A day when Blizzard rumors were as rife as ever, and people had started to put two and two together after spotting Diablo II lead, David Brevik, back on the California campus amidst a slew of other Diablo related hints. Well, it turns out it had nothing to do with what we'd hoped. At least not for now.
It took more than 10 years for us to see a real successor to Diablo II, and even though Diablo III has been around for a little while now, even with the expansion taken into mind, it seems far too early to expect a full-blown sequel.

This led to the rise of the JRPG, as console gamers were getting franchises such as Final Fantasy and Phantasy Star, and even ports of the classic PC game Ultima. But for PC gamers, the cupboard was bare in terms of roleplaying games.

Bombshell launched late last week for the PC, with various publications proclaiming it a major dud, including our very own Dustin Bailey, who gave it a 4.5/10 saying “Bombshell isn’t the worst game I’ve ever played, but it’s among the most dull and uninteresting.” It didn't fare much better with Steam's user reviews, but at least it's a little bit more mixed than the average score of 41 on Metacritic. 3D Realms are working hard to resolve some of the complaints that have been thrown against Bombshell, and are looking through comments and reviews to gather information to hopefully improve the game before it's too late. A statement from 3D Realms CEO, Frederik Schreiber, goes over some of the expectations from the early preview builds, with many comparing it to “Diablo” and other great ARPG's.
