Square Enix is happy the PlayStation 3 is a little cheaper for consumers, but the publisher won't feel the benefit until next fiscal said big boss Yoichi Wada; no real change.
A "big impact" from next year onwards is predicted though. Square reckons they'll have an operating profit of JPY 25 billion by March's end, and have taken in JPY 180 billion through sales.
"In terms of the impact (the PS3 cut) will have on this financial year's earnings, I don't think there will be a major difference," said Square Enix president Yoichi Wada, reports Reuters.
"But I expect there to be a big impact from next year." Their upcoming titles, Final Fantasy XIII, Dragon Quest IX and Batman: Arkham Asylum, are all expected to shift over one million units. Eidos' Batman and Final Fantasy shouldn't have a problem there...
