This is by no means an announcement that 2K Marin won't be developing the next instalment to BioShock, it's just that we shouldn't feel surprised if another team takes up the banner at some point. The original game was made by Ken Levine and 2K Boston.
Except they're not called '2K Boston' anymore because they reverted to their previous name of Irrational Games. "We think BioShock is still one of the most important franchises in the industry," Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick said, reports Kotaku.
"We do intend to support it; doesn't necessarily have to be at 2K Marin, but we do intend to support the franchise." 2K Marin is assisting 2K's Canberra team with the XCOM game in the works. Does BioShock have many sequels in its future?
