Retail is losing its clout among the industry and NPD rankings are becoming less relevant. Analyst Arvind Bhatia says digital is ”likely to get even stronger” for EA.
”Overall, we think the digital growth aspect of the EA story is likely to get even stronger and to impress investors in the coming years,” said Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia, having met with EA top brass. The US NPD retail figures release today.
EA concede that retail is still favoured but digital is fast catching up. They estimate that 40 percent of revenue is now provided through digital storefronts. CEO John Riccitiello is confident in fact that 2011 will see digital overtake retail.
