This was revealed in a tweet by Treyarch director of technology Cesar Stastny, who tweeted, ”Confirmed: Ranked Dedicated Servers for Black Ops 2.”
The original Call of Duty: Black Ops also featured ranked dedicated servers, but it required $14.99 per month through a service named GameServers.com. At the time, the service explained that their rental service allowed players to ”have the ability to Kick, Ban, and Configure it the way you see fit. Of course Ranked servers will have some set configurations that can’t be messed with; but you will still have the power to administrate your servers as a customer of GameServers.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on the 13th November 2012.
