Here’s perhaps the last trailer that Hideo Kojima will ever make for the Metal Gear series, a nostalgic trip through past triumphs leading up to what we hope is another one - next week’s hotly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 5.
It’s not exactly spoiler-heavy, but considering that MGS5 is only a few days away you might want to give it a miss. I watched it, because I have no willpower.
Metal Gear isn’t a perfect series - it’s gleefully nonsensical at times, it bogs the gameplay down with lengthy cutscenes and Kojima often indulges himself a little too much - but by god I’ll miss it when it’s gone (or at least, the Kojima-lead Metal Gear, because Konami has already confirmed that franchise will continue under a new production team).
Here’s hoping that Metal Gear Solid 5 is the rousing send-off that the early review suggest it will be. It’s out on September 1.
