Our predictions
GDC is this week! While that mostly means a bunch of industry professionals attending talks about engineering, marketing, and game design, there are some developers which take advantage of the occasion to make product announcements and hype their wares. Developers like Paradox Interactive!

Stellaris has been “coming very soon” for what seems like ages now, and we should be getting a big blowout on the game tonight. I’d expect a release date, and we’re guaranteed gameplay footage and all sorts of juicy details. There are all kinds of streams planned for the game this week, in fact, so we’re sure to see a bunch of info this week one way or another.
Hearts of Iron IV release details
I have to admit that I haven’t been following this one super closely, but the whopping 48 developer diaries out there means that many of your Hearts of Iron questions have already been answered. The World War 2 strategy game just has one big one left to cover: When and how much?
Obsidian announcement
All that strategy stuff is well and good, but me? I’m an RPG guy. Obsidian and Paradox previously collaborated on Pillars of Eternity, which is a terrific game and one of my personal favorites from last year. Pillars’ last announced piece of DLC just dropped last month, and the developer/publisher duo has been teasing something for this event. A new expansion? A whole new game, perhaps? I know I’ll be watching for this one with great interest.
New Cities: Skylines content
While there’s no official reason to expect Cities: Skylines news at this event, the wildly successful city builder is the hottest thing Paradox has going right now, with over two million players just a year after release. I’d expect to see some new DLC, but I’d like to see a fully-featured expansion. The last new bit of content, Snowfall, was a solid but insubstantial add-on, and I’d love to see what the developers can do in an expansion with a larger scope.
