Cyberpunk 2077’s first paid expansion is slated to launch at some point 2023, publisher and developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed in yesterday’s earnings call.
Part of the RPG’s post-launch plans since before its notoriously troubled launch, Cyberpunk 2077’s first expansion has yet to be detailed.
“As it was mentioned in the @CDPROJEKTRED_IR financial call moments ago, Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming expansion will arrive in 2023,” reads a tweet from the game’s official account. “Please stay tuned for more details coming later this year.”
Its relatively late arrival was met with both support and disappointment from parts of the game’s fanbase while coming as a result of the developer initially focusing on fixing the game’s most glaring issues.
Patch 1.5 launched back in February and delivered a bigger batch of fixes than its counterparts.
CD Projekt Red has also confirmed that it will continue supporting Cyberpunk 2077, likely with future free updates even as the majority of the studio has moved on to new projects, including the newly announced The Witcher game.
Despite its disappointing state at launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has sold more than 18 million copies as of April 14, 2022. It also has a fairly active modding scene, despite the lack of official modding tools.
