Warframe</a>'s latest update has introduced some sparkly new additions to the game, such as the venerable Chroma Prime, but as is always the case with this game, there's lots more to be excited about, and Devstream 117 has showcased some of that stuff.
It is worth mentioning right away that the long-awaited melee combat rework isn't quite there yet, and that it's been postponed for showcase sometime in the future, which is sad, though understandable, given the monumental effort that needs to go into reworking such a ubiquitous system.
Firstly, developers have mentioned that they're well-aware of Warframe's current content drought, and that this is such due to the fact that there's simply so much stuff currently in active development, and that we are due a very eventful end of year as it currently stands.
The game's next Mainline Update (Update 24) will bring with it an abundance of quality-of-life improvements, such as reworked adaptive exposure for combat effects, an intensity scale, the unlimited-and-instant-use Archwing Launcher, an infinite gear wheel, lots of new sounds, a much better Daily Login system, and a Corpus Glaive weapon.
We've also learned what the full map of Orb Vallis will look like, and that it will feature a rather extensive system of underground caves which players will be able to use as shortcuts during gameplay. The customisable Kit-Guns got some screen time as well, and apparently they'll have some use in the animal preservation minigame as well.
Perhaps the most exciting brand new announcement, however, is the fact that we'll soon have the chance to equip heavy Archwing weapons in normal gameplay, which means we'll be getting heavy gatling guns and incendiary miniguns really soon, too. An Archwing rework has also been promised, though no details are available just yet...
