Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition Latest Updates
Don't get your hopes up, though.
David Gaider announced his retirement from Bioware last month, after nearly two decades of employment, during which time he worked on Baldur’s Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, and Knights of the Old Republic, and served as lead writer for Dragon Age: Origins, eventually shaping the entire series. Now he’s working as a creative director at Beamdog, the folks you might know as the Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition people.
We already know that Beamdog, the team behind the slightly buggy but generally pretty greatfor Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, is creating a spin-off tale codenamed , to take place slap bang in the middle of Bioware's classic fantasy RPG adventures.
It looks like we'll be finding out more about the project pretty soon. A timer has gone up over on the game's, counting down until July 3.
Well now It's long been rumoured, but it's still quite a shock to hear Beamdog confirm that they're working on a completely new entry in theseries.
It's not quite Baldur's Gate 3, though. Instead the developer will create an all-new side chapter in the storyline that takes place between the first two games.
The 'contractual issues' between Overhaul Games and Atari have been slain by a mighty isometric RPG party of lawyers, and so Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is available at your local merchants "once again."
This is great news for owners of the HD remake eagerly awaiting the "major" patch Overhaul have been working on. The team will also have "exciting news" for BG2 soon.
