It includes 6 selectable ais. All are hard, 3 normal ones plus their cheating versions. With the Sorian Rush AI on land maps, you get constantly harassed by a varying stream of units that probe your defences looking for weak points. The Jaws AI is a must for any water map. As I'm sure you've found, the in-game ais aren't great at water maps.
