In the ‘Rumor Machine’ section, OPM UK claims, “Gun-wielding monkeys are finally making a comeback! A fourth Timesplitters title is to be announced soon!"
Of course, back in January, the major rumor would be that Timesplitters 4 would be announced right after Crysis 2's release. That hope had cold water thrown on it in June, when Crytek stated that Timesplitters 4 was not in development anytime soon.
Last week, Crytek said it was working on a new IP, which seems to eliminate Timesplitters.
All of this comes from the fact that Timesplitters developer Free Radical was acquired by Crytek, who now own the franchise, and the original developers are sitting on their hands at Crytek UK waiting for a chance to start it up again.
