According to the studio, "The new update, available today as a free downloaded patch, implements hundreds of fixes, feature updates, balance adjustments, checks and balances, including support for windowed fullscreen, new idea groups for more than 20 nations, and a “suggest demands” button which will automatically populate a peace offer that the AI will accept when trying to end a war."

The two new premium DLC packs includes "American Dream", which gives players the opportunity to have the American Revolution transpiring through in-game events. The "National Monuments II" pack gives players new landmarks to find around the world.
