The very first trailer for Devil May Cry 5 had given the series' fans something to look forward to, and some room to be carefully optimistic about the upcoming title, though it did leave a bit of room for scepticism in regard to some gameplay features and whatnot.
The Gamescom trailer, however, not only showcases some of the key features, the fluidity of combat, and general gameplay mechanics, but it also makes it perfectly clear that Dante will wield an actual rideable motorcycle as a weapon. This is key, obviously.
In the trailer, which you honestly should watch if you enjoy completely over-the-top action sequences, we get to see a number of Nero's moves that are making a return from Devil May Cry 4, some of which have also been upgraded and expanded upon.
For example, not only will Nero now have a mechanical Devil Trigger arm, which will let him perform many of the same moves he had back in the day, but he will also now have the chance to surf atop the thing, use it as a rocket, and execute electric attacks. All against some of the weirdest, most wonderfully Lovecraftian demons you've ever had the chance of seeing. All par the course, naturally.
The very final sequence makes it obvious that not only will the fan-favourite protagonist Dante make a spectacular return, but that he will also be a rather spectacular character to control. No word on the third playable character yet, mind.
Devil May Cry 5 is slated for release on PC on 8th of March, 2019, so there's a bit of time before the game is out yet.
