Resident Evil games often require a lot of backtracking and exploration to unlock new areas. One of the first areas you’ll need to unlock in the latest entry, Resident Evil Requiem, is the pantry room, which you can unlock while playing as either Grace or Leon.
The pantry room hides many useful resources, such as infected blood, bullets, and weapon charms that can make your trek through the Rhodes Hill chronic care center easier.

Resident Evil Requiem Pantry Room Location
The pantry room is located in the west wing of the care center, right past the parlor room with the roulette table. Guarding the pantry room is the chef, one of RE9’s many dangerous enemies, whom you’ll first meet while playing as Grace, right after her first encounter with Leon. The chef carries the key to the pantry room, so taking him down is your only option.
How to Beat the Chef in Resident Evil Requiem
The chef is an intimidating enemy, striding through the kitchen and its outside area at all times. While taking him down with bullets is the direct approach, that is also the most time and resource-consuming path, especially if you’re playing as Grace. You can always come back to the kitchen and deal with the chef while playing as Leon, who carries more than enough firepower to get the job done.
The smart approach to take is to explore the east wing instead until you get your hands on a Hemolytic Injector. Continuing to explore the east wing will unlock advanced crafting, through which Grace can craft Hemolytic Injectors by fusing infected blood and one scrap of resources.
With one Hemolytic Injector in your inventory, slowly creep up on the chef with his back turned to you, and use the melee attack button. The Hemolytic Injector will take effect instantly, mutating the chef and blowing him up in one fell swoop. After he’s dead, simply pick up the pantry key, and you’ll be able to enter the pantry inside the kitchen.
