The Medic class is (predictably) a rework of Doc from the first game. In Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, the healer hits a bit harder and leans into closer-quarters combat with its ability kit and selection of weapons. At least that's what the class-specific gameplay showcase promises.
First, the Combat Stims improve the squad's combat performance, with the Adrenaline Surge and Overclock upgrades offering different specialisations depending on the type of healer you want to be. Then, the Trauma Station gadget can be place to heal teammates while also buffing them with the Buffing Station upgrade or dealing damage to Xenomorphs with Poison Station. On the perks front, Bedside Manners speeds up ally revives when everything seems lost, and Surgeon's Hands prevent knockback to the Medic while they're interacting with allies or objects.
As stated before, the class-specific weapons are designed for close encounters, with the Armat X1 Fireball doing exactly what you're imagining and the fancy Weyland-Yutani Type 21 tactical shotgun Mk.2 turning Fireteam Elite 2's most chaotic battles into a boomer shooter. Blast away!
