Praetorians are among the most renowned Xenomorph variants after numerous appearances in video games, comic books, and whatnot. In Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, they'll likely cause as much trouble as in the first game.
Also known as the Royal Guard of the hive, Praetorians are huge and highly durable Xenomorph warriors with large crowned heads that make them look like smaller Queens. Though absent from the smaller hives, they're common as 'army commanders' in bigger infestations of Xenomorphs. In the Fireteam Elite game, they don't show up very often, but when they do, players must be prepared for what's essentially a mini-boss fight.
An enraged Praetorian can rush into an entire squad, knocking Marines down to then grab and execute them at random. Regular melee attacks also cause chaos among those who oppose it, and its armoured skin and big skull mean squads should try to focus fire on its glowing chest. Even if you do everything right, Praetorians are massive threats that don't go down easily and lead swarms of smaller Xenos.
